【关键词】仁爱版初中英语教科书 插图 分析与应用

0.引言

教科书中的插图,能够帮助学生直观的了解图片内容,吸引学生的注意力。教科书中的插图想要良好的发挥出作用,需要充分考虑到学生与教师的感受。一本图文并茂、插图与文字良好结合的教科书不仅仅能够有效提高学生的学习积极性,同时也有利于教师开展教学,符合我国新课程改革的要求。

1.仁爱版初中英语教科书插图的分析

笔者通过对仁爱版初中英语教科书的插图进行统计与分析发现,七年级上册插图总数488幅,96页。七年级下册495幅,96页。八年级上册564幅,96页。八年级下册563幅,96页。九年级上册406幅,96页,九年级下册213幅,48页。

从以上的数据分析可以发现仁爱版初中英语教科书其中的插图十分丰富。通过对学生认识规律的考虑与学生理解能力、思维水平的提升,插图数量随着年级的增加而减少。特别是到了9年级学生进入到复习阶段,插图数量的减少符合该阶段学习的要求。

从插图的表现形式进行分析发现,七年级上册照片17幅,卡通漫画类392幅,卡通简笔27幅,图表52幅。七年级下册照片15幅,卡通漫画类399幅,卡通简笔24幅,图表57幅。八年级上册照片18幅,卡通漫画类472幅,卡通简笔15幅,图表59幅。八年级下册照片20幅,卡通漫画类469幅,卡通简笔11幅,图表63幅。九年级上册照片78幅,卡通漫画类267幅,卡通简笔9幅,图表52幅。九年级上册照片58幅,卡通漫画类129幅,卡通简笔2幅,图表24幅。从上组数据可以发现照片数量与年级成正比关系,而图表与卡通类则随着年级的出现先增后减的趋势。不同的图片形式对学生有不同的教学意义,特别是照片由于复合学生直观理念的增长因素照片比例出现增长。但是在实际的教学应用中仍然存在问题。

2.仁爱版初中英语教科书插图应用存在的问题

(1)学生对教科书中的图片存在比较浓厚的兴趣,但是其对图片的认知仅仅是停留在表面,无法做到对图片与教学内容的联合思考,无法理解插图对教学的帮助点在哪里。

(2)学生由于受到自身知识的限制只能了解插图的大致意思,无法深入理解其信息,无法理解插图在这里插入的本质。

(3)学生对插图的理解不够深,就会影响到对教学内容的理解[1]。教师对插图的理解即使通过讲解也不能代替学生自身对图片的理解,长期在这种思想惰性的影响下学生不愿意对插图进行深入思考,影响了插图在教科书中的应用。

3.仁爱版初中英语教科书插图应用研究

3.1以图引出教学意义

探究插图的作用,其最主要的目的在于引发学生的学习兴趣[2]。从这一点教师应该充分利用插图的特点进行教学。

例如,以仁爱版七年级下册第6单元的《Our Local Area》为例,教师利用插图进行教学。师:同学们现在请你们根据课文中的这幅插图进行思考,这个扎着两个小辫子的同学是在什么环境下做着什么?整幅图传递出来什么信息呢?生:这个同学拿着书本在学习,从人物的表情上可以发现这个同学学习的十分快乐,在这位同学的身后是一个书柜,书柜里全是书。师:这个同学回答的特别好,说明这位同学有认真思考。同学们再思考这样一个问题,为什么这个同学拿着书本的表情是微笑、愉快的?现在让我们进入今天的学习。教师利用学生初步建立的的情感体检的基础上调动学生的学习积极性,让学生跟随教师的教学步骤进入到学习中。

3.2以图诠释做人道理

英语教科书中很大一部分的插图表达出培养学生健全人格、提高德育教育效率的目的[3]。教师在教学过程中联合插图将做人的道理穿教学中,让学生在学习英语知识的同时教会其做人的道理。

例如,某教师在进行仁爱版八年级上册2单元的教学时,首先让同学们熟悉这段内容,让学生利用英语朗读一遍之后,又利用中文翻译一遍。这时教师抛出一个问题,师:我们设身处地的思考一下这样一个问题,当我们班级中有同学也住院了,你们会怎么做呢?另外观察第二幅插图,病床上的同学是一种什么表情?这个表情说明了什么?生:如果我们班级中也有同学住院了我们肯定会去医院看望他。生:插图2中可以看出躺在床上的同学因为其他同学来医院看望他忘记了病痛,显得十分高兴。在同学回答完问题后,教师补充了插图中隐含的知识后又补充了在日常生活中看望病人应该多安慰人。

3.3以图陶冶学生情操

插图不仅仅要传播出一定的教学意义,更多的是培养学生正确积极的人生观、价值观[4]。教师可以利用教科书中的插图在引导学生挖掘其内涵的同时陶冶学生情操,有效提高学生对美的欣赏能力。

例如,某教师在进行《Who is your favourite character in literature》的教学时,并没有先进行教学内容的教学,而是以插图作为切入点,首先对这几幅插图的一些知识点阐述出来,让学生有一个大致了解,从而激发学生对艺术作品的欣赏,通过这种方式调动学生的学习积极性,之后教师再转回到教学课文的学习,学生在之前分为的感染下积极、专注的参与到教师的教学中,不仅提高了教学质量,同时也提高了学生对艺术的鉴赏能力,有效套也了学生情操。

总而言之,插图在英语教科书中具有重要意义,能够激发学生的学习热情,提高学生的课堂专注力,另外从教师的角度而言能够保证良好的教学效果。只是需要注意的是教师在利用插图联合教学的过程中需要采用较为灵活的方式,结合插图的特点进行教学,充分保证教学质量。

期末考试终于考完了,我们不知是该欢喜还是忧:考的好,一切都可以放松了;考不好,一切压力就从新压上来了。数学班,作文班,英语班……数不胜数:舞蹈班,跆拳道班,游泳班……更是目不暇接。有些时候想一想,这过暑假还不如平时在学校里上课,这暑假也不知是让我们休息的还是让我们更忙的。

当然,每个孩子的家长,都是希望不浪费一点点时间让孩子学习,这样一来,暑假的这两个月恐怕就只有补习了。

我在家,妈妈也给我安排了几本资料让我做。有七年级的,让我复习;也有八年级的,让我预习。我一算,如果是不吃饭不睡觉,一天24小时不停地写,还需要 314小时,也就是将近两个星期。天啊,这得做到猴年马月去呀。不过这314小时的学习时间被老妈一安排,这暑假里每天的学习任务就没多少了,而且还有玩的时间。不错不错,这样一来,既有学又有玩应该算挺充实了吧。

《英语》(新目标)很重视对学生进行启发式教学。在呈现语言知识时,尽量提供有实际意义的情景,启发学生动脑思考,让学生自己推测、发现,提高他们的学习自主性和学习能力。七年级、八年级每个单元的Section A和Section B的1a都以图画的形式出现,让学生仔细观察图画的内容,然后再把所学的语言知识与图画内容联系起来。如八年级上册Unit 3 Section A 1a图画中出现的人物有打篮球的、看电视的、在野营的、跟朋友玩的等等,教师把任务的要求向学生进行说明,然后要求学生观察图画后,以列表的形式把图中人物的活动用英语表达出来,并且还要求列出图中所没有的其他活动。这样,学生们的思维马上活跃起来了,很快就写出了表达这些活动的英语短语:

playing basketball, watching TV, going camping, playing with friends等,与图中内容无关的活动学生会写:reading in a library, going to the beach,having a party 等等。通过这样的活动,让教学内容直观、形象、富有启发性,学生既能掌握新的语言知识,又能巩固旧知识。

二、 强化听力训练

我认为《英语》(新目标)非常重视对学生进行英语听力训练,这是以往教材所没有的。它以每个单元的重点内容为中心,以不同的形式、不同的要求,对学生进行听力的培养。首先,内容丰富――每个单元的听力项目均有4个,支持单元相关话题。其次,形式多样――有标序、圈词、填词、连线、填表等。第三,由浅入深――要求完成的任务一般由简单着手,逐级递进,符合语言学习要求。本教材听力设计最大的特点即教科书只呈现任务,而把所有听力内容材料放在所有新内容之后。每个单元的Section A和Section B的2a和2b都是带有任务的听力材料,而且是同一内容的材料,但2a要求学生完成的任务比较简单,而2b难度相对较大。我想学生在完成2a后,基本上了解了对话的大概意思,那么完成2b也就不难了。如八年级上册Unit 7 Section B的2a要求学生看1a的图片内容,然后在图中圈出对话所谈到的单词。该对话的内容是A问B:“How do you make a turkey sandwich?”B回答时用了first,next,then,finally四个步骤告诉A制作火鸡三明治的方法。我播放录音的时候,学生很容易听出图中的单词,听完第一遍录音后,全班学生基本上已经完成了2a要求的任务。 然后,我立即向学生说明2b的要求,这部分不仅要求学生听出原料名称的英语单词,而且要求按步骤写出单词。在我播放第二、第三遍对话录音后,除了个别学生反应慢没有全部写出所要求单词外,其他学生都能写出所有单词。 但有的听力材料难度偏大,所以,在教学中教师需要进行适当的调整。或先让学生阅读材料,或绘制图片,或提示重点单词、句型等,然后再让学生听整个材料。如八年级上册Unit 6 Section B的2a和2b,该对话的内容是一个interviewer采访了Tina和Maria,对话篇幅长、内容复杂,它要求学生听对话后“fill in the chart”,对学生来说难度很大。第一遍录音听过后,大部分学生还弄不清对话内容,所以,放第二、第三遍录音时,让学生看着材料听录音内容,这样,学生才能完成填表的任务。

三、加强阅读教学

《英语》(新目标)中每个单元至少有两篇阅读材料,一般出现在Section A和Section B的3a,材料篇幅较短,便于学生理解掌握。可采用阅读教学法,让学生通过发现问题、分析问题、解决问题来获得知识,强调自学与合作学习。

1. 在学生阅读之前,简明扼要地指出要求和重点,作必要的引导和分析。适当地播放材料内容的录音,或教师范读,以利于学生感知阅读材料内容。

2. 对材料中的重点、难点和关键之处,在学生自读、自悟的基础上进行重点讲解,有些内容必须讲深讲透。有时教师要详细地讲,为学生解难释疑,以便学生正确理解、领悟材料内容。

3. 学生学习中不能抓住要点时,教师要进行提示性讲解。在总结课堂材料的阅读情况时,在学生概括、总结的基础上,教师要及时进行补充,以进一步提炼和归纳,让总结更加完整、准确。

比如,八年级下册Unit 9 Section B 3a的阅读材料“Come to the Hilltop Language School and change your life.”文章后带有八个小问题。上到这篇文章时,先用英语对文章作大概说明,然后放一遍阅读材料录音或范读,再给学生几分钟时间带问题看文章并找出答案。接下来叫几个学生说出问题的答案,再让学生举手说出文章中不理解的地方,教师再对重点、难点作补充,尽量把文章讲深讲透。学生理解文章内容后进行朗读训练。

四、注重口语训练

《英语》(新目标)中很多部分都适合学生开展结对活动,这些内容出现在听力内容之后。通过让学生彼此交谈,学生就有更多的时间来使用新语言,又能更好地训练学生的口语。轻松愉快的课堂,让学生们有了自信,有了兴趣,感到快乐。这样的课堂不会再沉闷,学生学起来不会感到枯燥乏味,又在短时间内为学生提供了大量操练内容。如八年级下册Unit 6 Section B 3c要求学生“Ask and answer the questions about Bob,Maria and Liam.”回答的内容是2a听力材料的对话内容,问题是:“What does Bob/Maria/Liam collect?”“How long has he/she been collecting ?”该任务的要求简单、容易完成,会让学生感到满足。

当然,在学生开展结对活动之前,可让学生自选搭档,并排坐,或面对面坐,必要时教师可进行适当示范。学生结对活动时,教师巡视检查并给予帮助。最后可让学生进行对话表演。这样就为学生提供了进一步口语操练的机会,其他学生如果愿意,也有机会进行提问。

五、突出语法内容

每个单元第二页的下端呈现的是一个语法焦点框,该焦点框清晰明了,是对本单元语法点的总结。对这一部分语法的教学,我的做法一般是:不按照教材的编排顺序,而把语法放在每个单元教学的第一时间来教,通过复习旧知识,引出该单元新的语法知识,然后进行归纳、总结,最后让学生以口头、笔头的形式操练,以达到掌握并巩固语法的目的。

六、合理安排自测内容

新教材注重对学生学习过程的形成性评价,从八年级起每单元末均安排了 Self check 部分,内容丰富多样。一方面,学生可通过 Self check 自我检测单元学习情况,自我评价,查找差距;另一方面,也给教师的教学提供反馈信息,以便教师及时调整教学策略,帮助学生,更好地完成教学任务。
